Governor Carney Orders Out-of-State Travelers to Immediately Self-Quarantine for 14 Days
Yesterday, March 29, Governor John Carney signed the seventh modification to his State of Emergency declaration, ordering all out-of-state travelers into Delaware to immediately self-quarantine for 14 days to fight the spread of COVID-19. The order takes effect at 8:00 a.m. today, March 30.
Under this new order, anyone who enters Delaware from another state must immediately self-quarantine for 14 days. The 14-day period is measured from the time of entry into Delaware or for the duration of the individual’s presence in Delaware, whichever is shorter. This also applies to anyone who has entered Delaware in the last 14 days.
Sunday's order does not apply to travelers who are merely passing through Delaware. Anyone who lives out-of-state and commutes to Delaware for essential work is strongly encouraged to work from home. The order does not apply to individuals commuting into Delaware to work for an Essential Business or to perform Minimum Business Operations as permitted by the Fifth Modification of the Declaration of a State of Emergency.
The order does not apply to those traveling to care for members of their family. Individuals under self-quarantine can leave their homes to seek medical care.

Governor's Request for Assistance
As a reminder, Governor Carney’s office sent out an urgent request for assistance from vendors throughout the state in the effort to fight the COVID-19 outbreak. In particular, they are in need of the following supplies: sanitizing wipes, nitrile gloves, supplies for hand sanitizer, Tyvek suits, N95 masks or other COVID-19 supplies.
For anyone who would like to offer their immediate capabilities, the State of Delaware is asking for emails to be sent the state’s central contracting team at: contracting@delaware.gov.
If you are able to offer any resources to the State of Delaware, or if you have already provided local assistance of any kind, we ask that you please share a description of your efforts with CICD. Our goal is to totalize what the CICD offered so we can show legislators what we can do to support the community when asked. Please feel free to forward/copy Rob Whedon on any resources offered at robert_whedon@americanchemistry.com.
