January CICD Newsletter
Membership Updates
We are looking forward to continuing to strengthen CICD by improving our current services to members while also recruiting new companies. If you work with a business that engages in the chemical industry in any way, please let us know so we can approach them about possible membership.
Additionally, we will be holding monthly membership calls on the third Tuesday of every month at 10am, so please mark your calendars for Tuesday, January 15th! An Outlook calendar invite will be sent soon.
Please also mark your calendars for Tuesday, March 5th. CICD will be hosting a luncheon within Legislative Hall for lawmakers to stop by, speak with members and learn more about our industry. A save-the-date will be sent soon.
2019 Legislative Forecast
CICD is looking forward to a productive and challenging legislative session. A few important updates are below, and be sure to visit our website for more in-depth subject matter updates.
The 150th General Assembly is convening on January 8 with approximately 25% new members.
The Governor’s State of the State is January 17 and his recommended budget is being released on January 24.
Advocacy Plans
CICD is looking forward to engaging with legislators and regulators in the coming months in order to advocate for our members and educate lawmakers about our industry. To that end, we are interested in working with as many of you as possible to set up facility tours, round tables and general educational events that we can then promote on our social media channels.
It is important to get our story out there and continually emphasize the value our industry brings to Delawareans, so please let us know if you are interested in hosting legislators at your site in 2019, and follow us on Twitter!
